Diagnosing of muscular imbalances in cross-country skiers using tensiomyography
Novák, Karel ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Jindra, Matouš (referee)
Title: Diagnosing of muscular imbalances in cross-country skiers using tensiomyography Objectives: Objective of the thesis was to define hypothesis about impact of cross-country skiing on musculoskeletal system, most importantly the origin of muscular unbalance, on cross-country skiers using tensiomyograph TMG 100 and bioimpedance InBody 720. Methods: This bachelor's thesis was conducted as qualitative research. It consists of six case studies. We examined the presence of muscular imbalance of back muscles in cross country skiers. Tensiomyograph TMG 100 and bioimpendace InBody 720 were used during this examination. Results: Based on results from examination of six respondents we found out, that there could be muscular unbalance from the standpoint of lateral symmetry, mostly in m. erector spinae. Conclusion: Based on six case studies, were formulated two hypothesis that take in account possible muscular unbalance of m. erector spinae and m. trapezius inferior that could be formed by specific usage by cross-country skiers. The utilization of tensiomyograph for measuring muscle imbalances of men in artistic gymnastics
Duba, Jiří ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Krištofič, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: The utilization of tensiomyograph for measuring muscle imbalances of men in artistic gymnastics. Objectives: The goal of the study is through utilization of tensiomyograph determinate commonly occuring phenomenona in musculoskeletal system in mens artistic gymnastics. Methods: This is a pilot study. Data were collected with tensiomyograph. Research was done through qualitative mapping of 10 probands. Five muscles on the upper part of the body were measured on each side - 10 muscles total. Results: Percentage if recommended activities is as follows: 39% of stretching exercises, 26% of activation exercises, 3% of strength exercises. Muscles with standard physiological properties account for 32% of the whole representation Total lateral symmetry of each muscle is in the range of 6.4%. The highest lateral symmetry was achieved by the muscle biceps brachii with 86.5% and the lowest latissmus dorsi with 80.1%. The right and left elbows have an average functional lateral symmetry with 75% right elbow and 78.1% left elbow. Keywords: tensiomyograf, artistic gymnastics, physiology, lateral symmetry
Muscle disbalance in golf players
Vlasák, Tomáš ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Gryc, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Muscular disbalance of golf players Purpose: The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to define the relationship between the movement golf swing and muscle disbalance on certain muscle groups based on six case studies using the Tensiomyography. Methods: The bachelor thesis has the character of qualitative research. The measurements were made based on the assumption of characteristic muscle imbalances that could occur as a result of a golf swing. Six case studies have been carried out. The tensiomyography measuring instrument TMG 100 was used for measurements. Results: Based on measurements of six probands, muscle disbalances were found on the upper body parts. Predominantly in muscle muscles deltoideus posterior and erector spinae and triceps brachii.
Using TMG to diagnose muscle imbalances in Jumping
Burgetová, Dominika ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Kolbová, Kateřina (referee)
Title: Using TMG to diagnose muscle imbalances in Jumping Objectives: The aim of this work was to define a hypothesis about the relation of training load in jumping and muscle imbalances in selected muscle groups using the tensiomyograph TMG and bioimpedance InBody 720. Methods: The bachelor thesis has the character of qualitative research. In particular, five case studies have been carried out, emphasizing the detection of characteristic muscle imbalances that could arise from the training load in Jumping. The tensiomicrograph TMG 100 and bioimpedance InBody 720 were used to measure muscle imbalances. Results: Based on the measurement of five participants, muscle imbalances were found primarily in the gastrocnemicus lateralis, semitendinosus and tibialis anterior. In functional symmetry the most frequently imbalances were found in the ankle muscle groups where tibialis anterior was compared against gastrocnemicus lateralis and gastrocnemicus medialis, and subsequently the imbalances in the legs where gastrocnemicus lateralis and medialis were compared against vastus lateralis and medialis. We also found functional imbalances in the knee where the biceps femoris muscle acted against vastus lateralis, vastus medialis and rectus femoris. Keywords: tensiomyograph, muscle asymmetry, trampolines,...
Diagnosis of muscle imbalances using TMG in women's artistic gymnastics
Lipšanová, Tereza ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Krištofič, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: Diagnosis of muscle imbalances using TMG in women's artistic gymnastics. Objectives: The main goal of this bachelor thesis was to diagnose functional muscular tension measured by the tensiomyograph TMG100. We especially focused on biceps brachii, triceps brachii, and deltoid muscles. 5 girls from one of the best Prague's artistic gymnastics clubs participated in this study. All the participants had the same training time and the same training plan. Methods: This bachelor thesis is a case study. The research is done qualitatively, by mapping a small number of participants. The actual measurements on the tensiomyograph, the analysis of the results and the recommendations made thereon were performed on five selected individuals. Results: Based on our findings, we formulated two hypotheses. Hypothesis 1: As a result of training, the biceps brachii is shortened on the dominant side and the contralateral side is weakened. Hypothesis 2: As a result of training, the triceps brachii is shortened on the contralateral side. Key words: artistic gymnastics, tensiomyograph, diagnostics of muscle imbalances, muscles of upper limbs
Using a tensimyograph to measure girls in sport aerobics
Knobová, Kateřina ; Kolbová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Šteffl, Michal (referee)
Title: Using a tensimyograph to measure girls in sport aerobics Objectives: The goal of my bachelor thesis is perform a functional muscle diagnosis with a focus on the quadriceps femoral muscle in a team of sport aerobics girls using TMG. Based on a general analysis of the training load, evaluate the effect of the traning on the funcitonal status of the femoral muscle and deduce general training recommendations. Methods: This bachelor thesis is a case study. Research is done qualitatively. mapping a small number of respondents. The actual measurements on the tensiomyograph, the analysis of the results and the recommendations of the measurement were performed on five selected individuals. Results: The task of the thesis is a description of a device called tensiomyograph, about which known documents had to be searched and translated exclusively from abroad. The second task, the output of this work is the results of measuring five respondents from the TMG and the analysis of the two-month competitive season, on the basis of which a recommendation was made leading to the elimination of the imbalances, through strength exercises, resp.stretching exercises. Keywords: Sports aerobics, training load, motion apparatus, tensiomyograph, muscle
